Voltage Drop Calculator

Calculate the percentage and absolute voltage drop across a cable run. Ensure terminal voltage stays within equipment tolerance and IEC 60364 limits to prevent malfunction.

📐 Standard: IEC 60364-5-52 Limit: 3% terminal / 5% total (IEC) 🔌 Phase: 1-phase & 3-phase

Engineering Notes

⚠️ Voltage drop affects motor starting torque, lighting quality, and equipment efficiency. Sensitive loads may require tighter limits (1–2%).
📌 For MV cables, reactive component (X) is more significant. This calculator uses typical X = 0.08 mΩ/m for LV and 0.12 mΩ/m for MV.
